How Often Should I Sealcoat & What Time Of Year?

• How often you sealcoat is recommended every other year, or once every two years. It can depend on how much your driveway is used, and if any oils or chemicals were spilled on it, how heavy the vehicles on your driveway are, and the exposure it has to the elements. Another recommendation is to schedule your sealcoating during the summer months of July or August as these are typically the hottest months of the year and will help the sealcoat drive faster which will get you back on your driveway faster.

I Do Not Know The Last Time I Seal-coated, How Do I Know It Is Time?

• If you are responsible for an asphalt driveway and are unsure of the last time that it was seal-coated, then you should check to see if you could use a sealcoating. For example, surface deterioration is the leading sign that you apply a sealcoating soon. Check for color changing from black to gray which is another sign that you may need a fresh sealcoat.
